The Railway's construction of the Pakhowal road underbridge is finally getting over. On Thursday Cabinet Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu along with Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu, Ludhiana Improvement Trust Chairman Raman Balasumbramaniam, MC councillor Mamta Ashu, MC commissioner Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal and other MC officials visited the site. Mr. Ashu said that the senior officials of the railways department have assured that they will complete their part of the RUB-2 by 31st August.
Deputy Chief Engineer of the Northern Railways (construction division) Mr. Williamjit Singh said that during the second Covid wave the construction work got delayed as there was no supply of oxygen cylinders that were needed to cut steel.

The RUB-2 will be used by vehicles coming along the Sidhwan Canal and going towards Sarabha Nagar. Ashu also said that the construction of the railway over bridge and RUB-1 are also in full swing and would be completed soon.
This construction being on one of the most commuted roads which connected few of the cities most densely populated regions affected the travel and life of the citizens a lot. It was one of the long-pending demands of the citizen.
This joint project of a Rail over bridge and two Rail under bridges is worth around ₹120 crores and it would solve the major issue of traffic congestion of the city.
