Breaking News: Punjab Police Busts Cross-Border Heroin Smuggling Racket with USA Connection

In a significant operation, DGP Punjab Police Gaurav Yadav announced via Twitter that the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) in Amritsar has successfully dismantled a cross-border heroin smuggling network. One suspect has been arrested, and a staggering 12 kg of heroin was seized. The operation revealed the use of drones to transport drugs from Pakistan into India.

Crucially, the arrested individual has direct links to the notorious drug smuggler Ranjeet, also known as Cheeta, who was apprehended in May 2020 for a massive 532 kg heroin haul. According to DGP Gaurav Yadav, Ranjeet’s brother, Sarwan S alias Bhola, has been operating from the USA, indicating an international connection in the illicit drug trade.
