In a major development, the Punjab government is all set to bring relief to industrial promoters by launching two One-Time Settlement (OTS) schemes. The final decision on this matter is expected to be made in the cabinet meeting today i.e. on Monday, where approval for the OTS scheme may be granted.
Sources in the known development suggest that industrialists will be able to clear outstanding dues on plots allocated before January 1, 2020, with 8% interest, without any upfront payment. The deadline to make these payments will be December 31, 2025.
This move comes in response to long-standing demands from industrialists facing financial strain due to pending dues. Additionally, a help desk will be set up to assist industrialists in the OTS process, making the procedure more convenient for them.
