12 Bangladeshi's member of Tablighi Jammat booked for violating Foreigners Act

A FIR has been lodged against 12 Bangladesh citizens who are member of Tablighi Jamaat and had attended religious congregation in Delhi last month. Presently, they are in administrative quarantine in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district said police official on Saturday.

On Friday evening, two Bangladeshis' were tested positive for Covid-19 out of the dozen Bangladesh citizens who have been quarantined in a college in Thana Bhawan town in Shamli district, said police.

Apparently, they all have been booked for violation of the Foreigners Act, 1946 by the Thana Bhawan police station in the district.

The police also affirmed that two more persons have also been booked for providing them with a shelter after the 12 people were found in a mosque at Bhasani village, were later shifted to the quarantine ward.
