Fifteen MPs representing various 10 political parties today visited the protest site at the Ghahzipur border of Delhi-Uttar Pradesh, according to one of the MPs.
Harsimrat Kaur Badal of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), Supriya Sule of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Kanimozhi of DMK and Sugata Roy of the Trinamool Congress among others visited the Ghazipur protest site.
Harsimrat Kaur Badal in a tweet wrote, "Saw first hand the conditions created at Ghazipur border. Shocked to see the treatment being meted out to the annadaata. Farmers are barricaded behind fortress like concrete barriers and barbed wire fencing. Even ambulances and fire brigades cannot enter the protest site."
.@Akali_Dal_ joins hands with like minded parties & MPs who are visiting #ghazipurborder to condemn atrocities being inflicted on farmers. Even MPs are not being allowed to meet peacefully protesting farmers. This is truly a black day for democracy!#FarmersProtest pic.twitter.com/JBSbKMvnlS

According to reports and visuals circulating on social networking sites, the police have set up barricades, cemented metal spikes on roads and used barbed wires over walls and on road to block the entry and exit of farmers.
As per reports, protesters will be joined by their counters from Western Uttar Pradesh after the decision by Khap Panchayats of various areas.
"We are here so that we can discuss this issue (farmers' protest) in parliament. The Speaker is not letting us raise the issue. Now, all the parties will give details of what is happening here," Badal told ANI.
