As per the reports, this was the third shooting this year at Indianapolis alone. Reportedly, a significant number of workers at the center belong to the Sikh community. About 90 percent of the workers in the FedEx delivery service center are Indian-Americans, mostly from the Sikh community.
Late on Friday night, the Marion County Coroner’s Office and the Metropolitan Police Department of Indianapolis released the list of the names of the persons killed, the list includes Amarjeet Johal (66), Jasvinder Kaur (64), Amarjit Skhon (48), and Jaswinder Singh (68). Out of the four Sikh victims, three were females, mentioned in the front.
The gunman was identified as 19 years old Brandon Scott Hole of Indianapolis died by suicide after the firing. He was a former employee in the delivery service center.

USA President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris also expressed condolence over this tragedy. President Biden in a statement said, “Vice-President Kamala and I have been briefed about the mass shooting at the FedEx facility in Indianapolis, where a gunman murdered eight people and left several of them wounded.” Biden issued a formal announcement in honor of the deceased. He ordered that the national flag must be hosted at half-staff at the White House and all other federal buildings.
On Saturday, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar tweeted, “Deeply shocked by knowing about the shooting incident happened in Indianapolis. Victims include eight persons of the Indian-American Sikh community. The Indian Government is in touch with the Mayor and local authorities and community leaders. Will render all possible assistance.”
Punjab’s Chief Minister showed grief and tweeted, “Shocked by the mass shooting incident at FedEx Ground facility in Indianapolis which took the lives of eight people including four Sikhs. Pray for the strength to their family in this hour of grief.”
