Shashi Tharoor gets ticket from Thiruvananthapuram; 27 more names announced

This release now makes the figure 81 of the confirmed candidates contesting Lok Sabha elections beginning from next month

With less than a month time left for the Lok Sabha elections, Congress has released its fourth list of candidates on Saturday with senior leader Shashi Tharoor getting a ticket from Thiruvananthapuram. The list included names of candidates from Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar islands and Uttar Pradesh. The list was released by the General secretary of AICC, Mukul Wasnik.

From Kerala, Anto Antony, who is a sitting MP, will be contesting from Pathanamthitta, Rajmohan Unnithan from Kasaragod, K Sudhakaran from Kannur, M K Eaghavan from Kozhikode, V K Sreekanthan from Palakkad, Ms Remya Haridas from Alathur, TN Prathapan from Thrissur, Benny Bahanan from Chalakudy, Hibi Eden from Ernakulum, Dean Kuriakose from  Idukki and Kodikunnil Suresh from Mavelikkara have been given tickets by Congress for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.

From Arunachal Pradesh, former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki from Arunachal West and James Lowangcha Wanglet from Arunachal east have been named.

From Chhattisgarh, Khel Sai Singh from Sarguja, Laljeet Singh Rathua from Raigarh, Ravi Bhardwaj from Jangir Chamoa, Derpak Baij from Bastar and Biresh Thakur from Kanker will be contesting on the behalf of Congress. 

From Uttar Pradesh, Harender Malik from Kairana, Ms Indira Bgatti from Bijnor, Om Prakash Sharma from Meerut, Arvind Singh Chauhan from Gautam Budh Nagar, Ch Brijender Singh from Aligarh, Pritam Lodhi from Hamirpur and Bal Krishna Chauhan from Ghosi have been named.
Kuldeep Rai Sharma has been given a ticket from Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
