On Monday, the police said ‘A 35-year-old married woman was gang-raped and after that murdered by two men at a village in Dausa district’. The incident took place on 26th April in Jaipur.
According to the police, the woman’s body was discovered in a well near the Bassi Police station on Monday, which happens to be in the Jaipur district. In this whole incident, one of the suspects was apprehended. The police also said that the woman was visiting her parents in Dausa for which she boarded a bus in Jaipur on Sunday morning.
She arrived at her village bus stop and was walking towards her parents’ house. This was the time when the accused offered her a ride in their vehicle. According to the Dausa Superintendent of Police Rajkumar Gupta, he claimed that instead of taking the woman to her village, they took her to the forest with an intention to gang-rape her.
The officer also gave an after picture of the incident, after her gang rape the woman was murdered and her body was dumped in a well. Meanwhile, when the victim did not return home, her parents got worried and filled a missing person’s report with Dausa’s Ramgarh Pachawara police station on Sunday evening.
He further quoted that the body was discovered in the early hours of Monday. The SP also stated that one of the accused, Kaluram Meena, has been apprehended and that efforts are being made to apprehend the other accused.
SP added the ongoing investigation suggests that the woman who has been raped was unknown to the accused and the body has been handed over to the family members after the post-mortem.
