With the formation of Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab, many big changes are going to be made soon. The first of these is expected to change the administration. As a result, Chief Secretary Anirudh Tewari may be replaced.
According to sources, the names of VK Singh and Anurag Aggarwal are being considered in place of Anirudh Tewari. Apart from these, A. Venuprasad, Sarvajit Singh and Ravneet Kaur are also in the race. It may be noted that Anurag Agarwal and VK Singh are 1990 batch IAS officers and Venu Prasad is a 1991 batch officer.
Sarvesh Kaushal was the Chief Secretary in 2017. When Captain Sarkar came to power, after taking the oath, he removed him and put Karan Avtar Singh. After this Vini Mahajan became the Chief Secretary. When Charanjit Channi became the CM, he replaced Vini Mahajan and appointed Anirudh Tiwari as the Chief Secretary.
At the same time, the reshuffle in the police department is being ruled out. The reason for this is that VK Bhawra has been made DGP through UPSC panel. According to the UPSC panel, no change can be made before 2 years. The Punjab government had to keep them under compulsion with these rules. Charanjit Channi, Iqbal Preet Sahota and Navjot Sidhu wanted to keep Siddharth Chattopadhyay in the chair but now both have left.
Aam Aadmi Party leader Bhagwant Mann will take oath on 16th March in Khatkar Kalan of Nawanshahr. There will be a change in the officers only after the swearing-in of CM.
