Former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amarjit Sandoa has been implicated in the land scam in Punjab. His Innova car was bought with the money of the scam in Karuran village of Ropar. After its disclosure in the Vigilance investigation, the SDM confiscated the registration of Innova. However, the former MLA has labeled it as a political conspiracy. At the same time, Congress has surrounded AAP and has asked CM Bhagwant Mann to take action against former MLA Sandoa.
The scam was exposed 2 months ago, Vigilance had exposed the scam of selling the forest department's land in Ropar at a rate ten times higher than the collector rate 2 months ago. The Innova Crysta car that the former MLA has been driving for the past year was discovered to have been purchased with scam money during this investigation. Sandoa relative purchased this car. This money was immediately transferred from the accused account to the car dealer's account. After which, this car was bought.
Vigilance checked the bank accounts, it was found that the Bhinder Brothers, named in this scam, deposited Rs 2 crore in the account of a woman from Jalandhar. The woman put some of this amount in the account of her husband Barinder Kumar. Barinder transferred Rs 19 lakh to a car dealer's account on 16 October 2020. Instead, the Innova Crysta vehicle was bought. The registration of the car was done in the name of Mohan Singh of village Ghadaspur. Mohan Singh is the father-in-law of former AAP MLA Sandoha.
Former MLA Amarjeet Sandoa said that all this is a conspiracy of opponents. He is innocent. He told CM Bhagwant Mann everything about this on Friday itself. His father-in-law gave him the Innova car to use. He never asked about the source of income of his father-in-law. The family of his in-laws had earlier helped him in starting the business.
