The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government will not give reservations on the appointment of Law officers in the Advocate General (AG) office in Punjab. The National Commission for Scheduled Castes had ordered the government to give reservations. Against this, the government led by CM Bhagwant Mann has reached the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Its hearing will take place today. The High Court had also sought a response from the SC Commission on the government's petition.
The AAP government argued that the SC commission can recommend or suggest them in the appointment of law officers. Can't order directly for this. At the same time, the Advocate General of Punjab, Dr. Anmol Ratan Sidhu also gave the opinion that the ability of the candidate should be seen in the appointment of Law officers.
