Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA, Dalveer Singh Tong, has been arrested in Baba Bakala of Amritsar in Jalandhar for allegedly violating the Election Commission's rules during the Lok Sabha by-election. Tong was found roaming in Shahkot area, which is a violation of the Election Commission's rules that prohibit outsiders from influencing the voters until 40 hours before the end of polling. Congress MLA from Shahkot, Hardev Singh Laddi, surrounded him and called the police on the spot. He alleged that the MLA was trying to influence voters by coming there with Tong supporters. The police reached the spot and took AAP MLA Tong into custody. Later, he was released on bail by the police.
