Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has succeeded in making its mayor in Patiala, Punjab. Kundan Gogia has been unanimously elected as the mayor of Patiala. Harinder Koli has been elected as the senior deputy mayor and Jagdeep Jagga has been elected as the deputy mayor.
AAP state president Aman Arora and health minister Balbir Singh were also present on this occasion. He said that our aim is to develop Patiala. The guarantees given at the time of elections will be fulfilled. He also said that the councillors of all parties will be given the same work.
On this occasion, AAP chief Aman Arora said that yesterday the party had got the leadership of municipal councils of 8 cities across the state. All the councillors of Patiala have unanimously elected AAP leader Kundan Gogia as Mayor, Harinder Koli as Senior Deputy Mayor and Jagdeep Jagga as Deputy Mayor. He said that the coming years under the leadership of AAP will prove to be a new era of development for Punjab.
There are a total of 60 wards in Patiala Municipal Corporation. Out of these, Aam Aadmi Party had won a total of 43 seats. While Congress won four, BJP four and Shiromani Akali Dal's two candidates won the elections. Elections were not held in seven wards. However, Aam Aadmi Party had a clear majority. The party has made its own mayor for the first time.
