During this tough time where each one of us is facing one or the other crisis due to the second wave of Covid-19. Amid this many Bollywood celebrities have taken charge to lend a helping hand to mankind. Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter, Navya Naveli Nanda has also taken the initiative to share the details of covid resources and organizations that are helping needy people in this time. Through her social media account, Navya has been sharing the details for a while now. The Nanda girl has also been very vocal about gender equality. Recently, she has shared a report published on the Forbes website about how the Coronavirus pandemic has impacted the gender gaps across the globe. Navya has expressed her thoughts on the issue.

On the Instagram story Navya has shared the link from the website. The star kid went on to express that attaining gender equality is now a distant dream because the pandemic has hit men and women in a very different way. She said that the pandemic lockdown has affected the Indian working women in a very disappointing manner as the people were frustrated with the slow loss in businesses. Sharing the link for the report she writes, “this pandemic has disproportionately impacted women. Especially working women! Especially Indian women. Making gender equality a very very distant dream”.

That Forbes report claims that now it would take probably 135.6 years to close the gender gap worldwide. It also highlights that the number has gone up from 99.5 years from last year’s report. Navya has engaged herself in empowering women throughout the nation through her project ‘Project Naveli’.
