Jalandhar: After seeking blessings of Murad Shah Dargah, the Achievers group filed their nominations and released their manifesto for the Gymkhana club elections 2019.
Some of the eminent posts of Gymkhana include Honorary Secretary, Joint Secretary, Junior Vice-President, and Treasurer. For Honorary Secretary Tarun Sikka, Junior Vice-President SPS Virk, for Joint Secretary Salil Gupta and for the post of Treasurer Amit Kukreja is contesting the elections.

The manifesto of the Achievers group covers almost every aspect of the club:
Digitization
It's imperative to have a digital platform for our members. We intend to build and launch the Club's own Mobile App. The objective of this App is to have an effective tool for communication. Through this app, a smart information system will be in place to disseminate the club's Activity information, to enable members to do online booking, pay their outstanding bills, etc. Our app will also have some exclusive networking features that will bring the Club Members closer together both digitally and in the real world and make Gymkhana, one close tight‐knit family.
Energy Conservation
We as a club must display a sense of accountability towards resources that we have. Our premise has a significant area that receives ample sunlight and rain at different times of the year. We must harness this potential of our club. We intend to install Solar Power Panel to generate electricity. It will not only save electricity bills but put our club in the list of selected clubs taking this initiative across the country. Building a rain harvesting system in the premise will be another action that we will be taking.
Creating Social Impact
As a club, we shall demonstrate sensitivity towards social issues around us. We intend to bring in some innovative ways to create funds. These funds will be utilized to benefit the marginal class of our society. A transparent and structured annual calendar of such activities will be planned and placed.
Social Media Activation
We must have a window to interact with the outer world. We will have the club's official social media handles on all impactful social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram. The objective of the same is to spread good words about our work across the country. Let our work build a fan and follower base for us.
Women Empowerment
Women are an integral part of our society and we as a club must resonate the same by our actions. We plan to have annual activities on the theme of women empowerment. The objective of the activities will be to enable women of our club with information and skills through seminars and workshops. These are challenges that women are facing in current times and they need to be trained and sensitized about the issues like Parenting, work-life balance, health, and hygiene, etc.
Youth Empowerment
Our club is now having a significant proportion of young members. The club shall have a dedicated wing of volunteers for youth empowerment. We intend to engage the youth of the clubs with activities of the value proposition. Interaction with Industry leaders, inviting achievers of different domains, an open discussion forum with experts will be some focal points of our agenda under this initiative. Youth will be trained on social media marketing, creating investment, newer ways of marketing and on other topics as required and asked by our youth members for the benefit of the Club.
Amenities improvement and upgradation
Being a member of this elite club, we all surely deserve the best. We intend to upgrade exiting set-up of Badminton, Steam and Sauna, Lawn Tennis. The swimming pool too will be upgraded to all weather pool or fully covered one. Provision will be made for Tambola also on the rainy days. Guest room services would surely be improved in a way that our club members' guests at City shall feel like being home. A multi-utility card will be provided which can be used for different facilities in the Club.
Restaurant and Catering Services
We are committed to a quality experience for our members when it comes to dining. We plan to upgrade the coffee lounge to a fine dining family lounge. A dress code will be implemented so as to maintain a fine dine ambiance and give the Club an elite look and feel. To make things better we will work meticulously on ambiance and hygiene elements of dining in our club. You shall expect an overall change in cutlery to catering in our restaurant service. For making dining a hassle-free experience we will bring an online table booking system to avoid last minute issues.
Infra-Structural Development
Parking would be one of the main agenda of our 2-year operation. On top of the exceptional facilities offered inside the club, it is important that we make it convenient for the members to park outside easily. We aim to give them a smooth experience which includes a convenient parking facility.
Sense of Community
Perception is everything. In the coming two years, we aim to focus primarily on the brand image of the Gymkhana Club. We will be coming up with regular events and activities, similar to GPL, that boost the sense of belongingness and community within the club members. By strengthening the sense of belongingness towards Gymkhana, our members will initiate a word-of-mouth marketing for us that will convert into more new registrations and in turn, more acclaim for the Club.
Self Assessment of work
We understand that being the managing committee we have accountability towards all members and towards the club. Our work will be driven by our manifesto. First time in our history, we intend to initiate a monthly meet with the name PRP (Performance Review and Planning). This meet will have a discussion about the work done so far and planning for time bound results. A committee of prominent people will be made to analyze the monthly development and progress of the club. This committee will be constituted of all sections of the Club.
Withdrawal of Benefits from Elected Body
No benefits will be given to Executive members. All special facilities will be withdrawn from the Executive committee and they will be treated as normal Club members. They will have to pay for all the services that they use.
