Amid surging COVID-19 cases, Punjab Health Minister Dr. Vijay Singla on Tuesday said that people should start wearing masks and avoid going to crowded places.
Active cases of corona have increased in Punjab for the third consecutive day. On Tuesday, 21 new patients were found during 24 hours. At the same time, the active cases are now close to 100 i.e. 90.
On Tuesday, maximum 8 patients were found in Punjab, Ludhiana and 5 patients were found in Jalandhar. Although the positivity rate here is less than 1%. 3 patients have been found in Mohali, 2 in Pathankot and 1-1 in Barnala, Gurdaspur, and Patiala. The highest positivity rate of 4.55% has been found in Pathankot. The state's positivity rate in Punjab stood at 0.33% on Tuesday.
In Punjab Till now, 17,743 people have died since the start of the corona epidemic. So far, a total of 7 lakh 59 thousand 304 positive cases have been found. Out of which 7 lakh 41 thousand 471 patients have recovered and returned home. On Tuesday, 8,516 samples of covid were taken. At the same time, 6,324 samples were tested.
