Sonu Sood has stepped forward to assist flood victims in Punjab. The actor-philanthropist has established a helpline to assist those impacted. He has also conveyed his sorrow over the flood disaster in Punjab.

Several regions in Punjab and Haryana were hit by torrential rains last week, paralyzing daily life and flooding wide swaths of residential and agricultural property. Though floodwaters had receded in many districts of Punjab and Haryana, authorities were still working on relief efforts and repairing gaps in 'dhussi bundhs' (earthen embankments) that had formed along the Ghaggar River.
