Slowly & steadily flight operations from Adampur Airport have started to increase and connectivity to other states has started to improve. A few days back it was reported that IndiGo Airlines has been permitted by the Airport Authority of India to start flights between Adampur and Mumbai. However, when will IndiGo start Adampur to Mumbai flight services it was not revealed. Hence, True Scoop News reached out to Jalandhar DC Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal to know about Adampur-Mumbai Flight details and updates.
Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, DC Jalandhar, informed that direct flights for Mumbai from Adampur will start in a month or so. "Final timings have not been decided by the airlines yet," said Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, DC Jalandhar.
As per reports, IndiGo Airlines will start the service with 186-seater aircraft, that will be available seven days a week. This will be a direct flight from Adampur to Mumbai. With the start of direct flights from Adampur, the industry of Jalandhar as well as the religious, political, education, and medical sectors will get a big benefit from it. Apart from this, there is a direct flight from Mumbai to Dubai as well.
In November 2024, IndiGo Airlines official Surendra Narli had a meeting with DC Dr. Himanshu Agarwal after completing the survey. It is worth mentioning that Adampur Airport, built on 35 acres, has been developed at a cost of Rs 120 crore. Apart from this, work is also going on to make the 4.5 km long road from Adampur to the airport a four-lane road.
Previously, SpiceJet had started connecting flights between Adampur and Mumbai and Jaipur at Adampur Civil Airport. At that time, Mumbai received a better response than Jaipur. More than 2700 passengers travelled from Adampur to Mumbai, but after April 4, 2021, flights between Adampur and Delhi and Mumbai were stopped. On March 31 last year, Star Airlines started service to Hindon, Bengaluru, and Sri Nanded Sahib and now with the second flight from IndiGo, Adampur Civil Airport will get a big boost, which will directly benefit the people of the Doaba region.
