The National Testing Agency (NTA) will now be conducting the All India Entrance Exam for admission to bachelor and master's degree programme in agriculture and allied courses. The government testing agency has now been endowed with the task of conducting the exam on behalf of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).

NTA notified the exam details on 1st April. The exam will be conducted on July 1. Online registration started from 1st April. The last date to register is April 30. ICAR led entrance exam used to fill 15% of the undergraduate seats and 25% of the postgraduate seats in agricultural universities. However, for deemed-to-be-universities like IARI, IVRI, NDRI, admissions are held solely through the All India Entrance Exam. The Council conducted separate exams for both programmes.

The last entrance exam was conducted by the Council in August. It was the 23rd All India exam. The results of the exam were declared in September. The exam which was held in June was cancelled due to administrative reasons.

The national testing agency has been established to conduct the Hotel Management Test, the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test, Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) and the UGC National Eligibility Test among others.
