A video is going
viral on the internet showing a woman constable from Agra, flaunting a duty
revolver in her uniform. In a video uploaded on Instagram, lady constable
Priyanka Mishra is seen in her uniform, lip-syncing to a dialogue about
‘rangbaazi’ in Uttar Pradesh and waving her revolver.
After the video went viral, Agra’s Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) ordered a probe and told reporters that the woman constable clearly violated the code of conduct followed by the UP police.
The 37-second-long viral video appears to glorify crime as the lady constable, with a smile on her face, continues to lip-sync on the song that says, “Haryana and Punjab might have earned a bad reputation for crime but come to Uttar Pradesh we will show what is called Rangbaazi.”
The background song, with tempting music, further says “Neither do we glorify crime with songs, nor do we write ‘Jat and Gujjar’ on our vehicles, but in UP, kids as young as five know how to play with guns.”
Mishra reportedly posted the video on August 21 and it has now been deleted. Netizens subsequently started slamming the Uttar Pradesh police over the video. However, the cop’s followers reportedly are increasing after the stunt. She is a constable deployed at MM gate police station. As per some reports, she does not have a service revolver allotted to her by the department and Agra Police have initiated an inquiry into the matter.
