Netizens on Twitter are beginning to react to news of Airtel awarding contract to Huawei.
Huawei was in the eye of the storm in the United States also for privacy concerns.
The original article was published on Telecom page of The Economic times titled, “Huawei bags Rs 300 crore network contract from Bharti Airtel”.
Brahma Chellaney, a published author and strategic thinker on international relations, tweeted, “India is a major target of China's cyberwar. Huawei's foreign spying occurs through technological "backdoors" intended for use by local law enforcement. Yet India's Airtel, not content with letting Huawei run its long-distance network, hands Huawei a fresh contract for expansion.”

Indians seem to like the rationale and thus this hashtag began to be mentioned in tweets and thus the hashtag become trending.
Most netizens are following the herd and complaining against Airtel with a side hashtag of #BoycottAirtel also being created and used.
It is worth remembering that Boycott hashtags are a popular pastime of Indians with the same being targeted at a jewellery store some months ago.
Still, some people are offering sane explanations that any business will always keep money its priority and if quality and quantity can be arranged at a cheap price, then the company providing the same will get the contract.
Actually, it's quite natural for any business enterprise to consider "Financial gain" over EVERYTHING.

Maybe, even if "we" were in the place of BHARTI AIRTEL, we would have done the same thing. 😔#AirtelLovesChina
The question to ask is whether the netizens who agree with #BoycottAirtel will get their mobile, broadband, and TV connections disconnected and shifted to another provider?
