Akshay Kumar's name is at the top of the list of Bollywood's most popular action stars. For over three decades, Akshay Kumar has kept his fans delighted on screen with seemingly easy feats, earning him the title of undisputed action film hero. However, Akshay has now gone on to praise another action actor, Vidyut Jammwal, features in Sanak, which is set to premiere on Disney+Hotstar today. On social media, Akshay congratulated Vidyut and released the trailer for his film.

Vidyut's ability to make the action appear effortless on screen was praised by Akshay. He was also ecstatic to witness his forthcoming action film Sanak. Now as Akki praised Sanak, is the film worth watching?
"Kya Hindi picture jaise idhar bhi police late aayegi?" asks antagonist Chandan Roy Sanyal to his colleague in Sanak, creating the impression that the movie is full with clichés Sanak appears with Vidyut Jammwal, one of Bollywood's top action actors. So you know what to expect: a lot of action, a few risky feats, and one-liners aimed at his die-hard followers. But does Sanak live up to expectations and make your stay worthwhile?
Sanak is a hostage drama that takes place at a hospital. Vivaan (Vidyut Jammwal) is going to see his sick wife Anshika (Rukmini Maitra), who is recovering from a life-threatening operation. When a group of terrorists led by Saju Solanki (Chandan Roy Sanyal) plan to rescue a fellow criminal Ajay Pal Singh (Kiran Karmarkar) from the hospital premises, the hospital becomes the centre of drama. Officer Jayati Bhargav (Neha Dhupia) is in charge of apprehending the criminal men and defusing the tense situation.
While the idea has the potential to captivate you, the clumsy storyline and bad writing prevent Sanak from being a pleasurable experience. There are numerous obvious flaws that must be addressed. Sanak appears antiquated and superficial in an age when the public has seen better hostage dramas with realistic treatment (Mumbai Diaries: 26/11). So you can't help but notice oddities, like why do the terrorists have a team led by an Indian man with a lot of Asians, a black lady, and white males who speak in a weird accent? Why did the authors employ Neha Dhupia and offer her only a few lines to speak and appear worried about the situation? Sanak features a number of such instances that defy logic.
Thankfully, the picture misses the song-and-dance routine, and when the action finally begins, the attention remains on the action. Vidyut fans get their fair amount of action, with the actor going all out to make sure his hallmark movements are delivered.
Sanak has the potential to be slicker, faster, and tighter. As a hostage drama, it falls short of the mark. Vidyut fans, on the other hand, are in for a treat if his action sequences and daredevil exploits are what they came to see.
