Alia Bhatt, one of the most promising actresses of Bollywood has confirmed that she has tested positive for the coronavirus. The confirmation came at late night on April 1 when Alia shared a story on Instagram.
Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt confirmed the news on her Instagram story which reads, “Hello all, I have tested positive for Covid 19. I have immediately isolated myself and will be under home quarantine. I am following all safety protocols under the advice of my doctor.” She expressed her gratitude to people for their love and support and urged people to follow safety protocol. “Grateful for all your love and support. Please stay safe and take care,” she added.

Alia Bhatt has been busy shooting in Mumbai for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi. In early March, Bhansali had tested positive for corona. A few days after Bhansali, Alia’s sweetheart Ranbir Kapoor also tested positive for Covid19 and was under home quarantine. Ranbir and Alia were shooting for their upcoming movie Bhramastra whose release has been delayed.
In recent weeks, many Bollywood celebrities have tested positive for coronavirus. The legendary Bollywood singer Bappi Lahiri also tested positive on 31st March. Lahiri was hospitalized after he was diagnosed with ‘mild Covid19 symptoms and is now treated at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. At the end of March, ‘Mismatched’ fame Rohit Saraf also tested positive for coronavirus.
In a recent interview with Rajeev Masand, Ranbir Kapoor had revealed his plans of getting married to Alia Bhatt. He said that he and Alia were planning to marry in 2020, however, Covid-19 struck. The actor stated, “It would’ve been sealed had the pandemic not hit our lives. I don’t want to jinx it by saying anything. I want to tick-mark that goal very soon in my life.”
