Alia Bhatt looks surreal as ‘Sita’ from first poster look of SS Rajamouli’s multilingual film “RRR’

Alia Bhatt is celebrating her birthday on Monday and the RRR team has released the first look of Alia for the film as Sita. Alia is playing one of the lead roles in the movie and will be seen opposite Ram Charan’s character, Alluri Seetarama Raju. In the first look, Alia sits with lamps all around her and a basket of flowers is placed in front of her, wearing a beautiful green saree with a red blouse while her hair is tied up into a loose braid. She sports a maang tikka and jhumkas in the picture.

Sharing the picture, Alia captioned the post, "Sita" adding a black heart emoji and RRR hashtag, while director SS Rajamouli tweeted saying, “Strong-willed and resolvent SITA’s wait for Ramaraju will be legendary! Presenting Alia as Sita to you all :) (sic)”

This movie will mark Alia’s first venture with SS Rajamouli and in the southern film industry. She will share the screen alongside NTR Jr and Ram Charan. The period drama sees the actor play a supporting role.

 

Before releasing the first look, the team had said, “Sita’s wait for Ramaraju might belong. But your wait to meet her is almost over. Unveiling Aliaa as Sita tomorrow at 11 am.”

On Sunday, Alia had teased her fans with the look by sharing the silhouette of her character seated in front of a statue of Lord Ram. Alia joined the sets of the movie earlier this year. 

RRR is a multilingual and multi-starrer movie and is tentatively scheduled for release on October 13. The movie is being bankrolled by DVV Entertainments. A fictional story set in the 1920s colonial era, the film is based on the lives of two real heroes and well-known revolutionaries — Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. Currently, the shooting is going on and renowned Hollywood stunt choreographer Nick Powell has been roped in for a special action sequence.
