After a very successful 2022 with critically and commercially successful films such as Gangubai Kathiawadi, Darlings, RRR, and Brahmastra winning the hearts of viewers all over the nation, Alia Bhatt cemented her position as one of the most bankable female actresses in India. Following the winning streak in her domestic market, the much-loved actress is all set to make her Hollywood debut with the Netflix film Heart of Stone where she is essaying the role of the main antagonist. The film is directed by Tom Harper best known for directing 3 episodes of the first season of Peaky Blinders and co-stars Wonder Woman fame Gal Gadot and Fifty Shades fame Jamie Dornan in the lead roles. The film will be released on 11th August 2023 on the streaming platform Netflix in Hindi, English, Tamil and Telugu.
The first trailer for the film was released on Sunday as a part of the Netflix TUDUM event in Brazil where the company unveiled many other highly awaited projects such as Stranger Things, Squid Game, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and One Piece among many others. The film revolves around the International intelligence agent Rachel Stone played by Gal Gadot who embarks on a life-threatening mission to protect the mysterious MacGuffin known as "The Heart." Stone is instructed by the peacekeeping operation known as Charter to keep the object safe from falling into enemy hands which is the dastardly antagonist Keya Dhawan played by Alia Bhatt.

Viewers are also curious to see Alia Bhatt in a never seen before avatar as this will be the first time the actress, who usually plays the powerful female protagonist or the leading love interest in her film, will be playing the role of an antagonist for the first time in her 11 years long career. The actress will be also seen in the Karan Johar directorial Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani on 28th July on the big screen, paired with Ranveer Singh.
