Nargis' sister Aliya Fakhri has been arrested in the murder investigation of her ex-boyfriend and his friend in Queens, New York. Aliya Fakhri, 43, allegedly set a two-story garage on fire, which led to the death of Edward Jacobs, 35, and Anastasia Ettienne, 33. As per US authorities, Aliya Fakhri arrived at the garage early morning on November 2 and yelled "you're all going to die today" at Jacobs, who lived upstairs. A witness came out hearing her voice and found that the building was on fire.

43-year-old Aliya Fakhri is the younger sister of Bollywood actress Nargis Fakhri. Aliya Fakhri was born and brought up in Queens, New York. Talking about Aliya Fakhri's arrest reason, Nargis sister was arrested in connection to a double murder case and has been denied bail from Criminal Court. Amid the allegations, Fakhri's mother defended her daughter, describing her as a caring person who would not commit such an act. "I don't think she would be killing someone. She was a person who was caring for everybody. She tried to help everybody," her mother was quoted saying.

Aliya Fakhri's boyfriend and murder case details
Queens District Attorney issued a release in which Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced that Aliya Fakhri has been indicted on murder in the first degree and related charges for deliberately setting a deadly fire in the detached garage of a home in Jamaica killing her boyfriend, 35-year-old Edward Jacobs, and 33-year-old Anastasia
Fakhri allegedly set the fire near the entrance of the building, trapping the two inside with no exit. District Attorney Katz said,"As alleged in this indictment, this defendant maliciously ended the lives of two people by setting a fire that trapped a man and woman in a raging inferno. The victims tragically died from smoke inhalation and thermal injuries...”
Aliya Fakhri was indicted by a grand jury for four counts of murder in the first degree, four counts of murder in the second degree and one count each of arson in the first degree and arson in the second degree.
Aliya Fakhri is facing a potential maximum of life in prison if convicted of the top charge. Fakhri must return to court on December 9.
