Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday announced that all Russian vaccines against coronavirus were effective. He also stated that Russia will soon register a third shot against the virus, according to the RIA.
Putin said, Russia is launching its Sputnik V vaccine for domestic use, though late-stage trials are still unfinished. The following announcement comes a day after drugmakers Pfizer Inc and BioNTech said that their experimental COVID-19 vaccine was more than 90% effective.
Putin via video conference at a Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit meeting, “There are already two registered vaccines. And studies have already shown and confirmed that, firstly, these vaccines are safe and have no serious side-effects after use, and secondly, they are all effective.”

Putin further added that the Russian vaccine’s effectiveness has been judged from the data collated from vaccinations of the public and not from an ongoing trial.
Putin also said Moscow was willing to cooperate and support making the on coronavirus vaccines available for all mankind. He said, “We suggest not politicising these processes, considering that people all over the planet are today in need of these drugs, without any exaggeration.”
