Amid the rising cases of Covid-19 in the district,
Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori has directed to close all
markets/shops and business establishments on April 25 to contain the spread of
the infection.
In his latest order, DC Thori has said that all shopping malls, markets, shops, and restaurants/hotels will remain closed on Sunday. Shops of essentials goods will also remain closed and the goods can be delivered at the doorsteps only.
However, there are certain things that will be allowed to function during the day lockdown. This includes:
1. Factories functioning 24/7 with workforce roster
2. Medical shops
3. ATMs
4. Fuel Stations/ Petrol Pumps

Pertinently, grocery stores, fruits and vegetable shops, diary, animal food shops, etc, will also remain closed on Sunday.
Notably, the highways will not be closed and vehicles can be on ply.
