Days after the Centre and Punjab Government reached a consensus to extend Khadoor Sahib MP and Waris Punjab De Chief Amritpal Singh's detention under NSA by one more year, a major assassination plot has sent shockwaves in India. Multiple WhatsApp Chats allegedly linked to Amritpal Singh's supporters have been leaked online. According to leaked Amritpal Singh's supporters' chats, 3 Indian leaders are on the hitlist of Waris Punjab De supporters. Two of them are from Punjab, and another one is Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Below is what you need to know about the so-called leaked chats of Amritpal Singh's supporters- 

Amritpal Singh Supporters leaked chats

Leaked screenshots of a WhatsApp Group chat of a social media group supporting jailed MP Amritpal Singh show their intention to target Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP MP Ravneet Bittu, and SAD leader Bikram Majithia for the one-year extension given in the detention of Amritpal. As per reports, the leaked chat screenshots and audio recordings have been shared with security agencies. The controversial WhatsApp group has more than 600 members. The members of the group were planning to allegedly assassinate Union Minister Ravneet Bittu, SAD Leader Bikram Majithia, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their alleged key role in keeping Amritpal in jail.

Furthermore, the group members were also allegedly planning to carry out such acts that violence would erupt in Punjab. 

Ravneet Bittu's reaction on Amritpal Singh's group leaked chats

Addressing the media, Ravneet Bittu said, "The Centre will not allow anti-national forces to destabilise Punjab," adding, "My grandfather (Beant Singh) laid down his life for peace in Punjab. I come from a family of martyrs, and I am not intimidated by extremist threats. I will not allow Punjab to descend into darkness again. Those behind this conspiracy will face the consequences."

NSA on Amritpal Singh

Punjab Government has extended Amritpal Singh's extension by one more year. 32-year-old Khadoor Sahib MP is currently lodged in Assam's Dibrugarh jail. He was put in detention under the NSA after he was arrested on April 23, 2023. Amritpal Singh, who styled himself after Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, was arrested in Moga's Rode village on April 23, 2023, following more than a month-long manhunt.
