Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab President and Minister Aman Arora has led the party to a remarkable victory in the recent municipal elections, cementing its position as the leading political force in Punjab’s urban areas. Arora expressed his gratitude to the voters, highlighting their trust in AAP’s vision and governance.
Out of 961 wards where voting took place, AAP secured 522, accounting for 55% of the total. The party dominated in Patiala, winning 43 out of 53 wards, and became the largest party in Ludhiana and Jalandhar. While narrowly missing a majority in a few places, AAP finished second in Amritsar and Phagwara.
“The people of Punjab have shown their faith in us. This victory is a reflection of their support for the work AAP has done,” said Aman Arora. He also pointed out that several opposition parties struggled to field candidates in many areas, underlining AAP’s growing popularity.
The Congress won 191 wards (20%), BJP 69 wards (7%), and Shiromani Akali Dal 31 wards (3%). Independent candidates claimed 143 wards, while BSP managed to win only 5.
Aman Arora further added that the elections were peaceful and thanked voters for making AAP win in the elections.
