Why did Chamkila reject Sridevi's offer?
As per reports, Sawarn said in the interview that Sridevi was a huge fan of Chamkila and even asked him to the hero of the film. However, Chamkila reportedly turned down the offer saying that he could not speak in Hindi. Sridevi extended the offer to include, a month’s training for the late singer. However, Chamkila said that this would cause him a loss of around Rs. 10 lakhs.
But Sridevi was adamant on working with Chamkila for a movie. So she offered to do a film in Punjabi. However due to various constraints, the film could not come to pass. Tragically, Chamkila was killed in a shooting on March 8, 1988 and Sridevi’s dream to collaborate with Chamkila, remained just that, a dream.
