Days after resigning as Chief Minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh is on his way to Delhi. Amid Capt’s visit, speculations of him joining BJP were raised, however, his media
advisor, Raveen Thukral denied the reports.
Reportedly, Capt Amarinder is likely to meet BJP leaders- Union Home Minister Amit Shah and party president JP Nadda. Captain, on the other hand, claimed that his visit to Delhi is personal.
“Capt Amarinder Singh's visit to Delhi has gotten a lot of attention. He'll meet some friends on his personal visit and vacate Kapurthala residence for the next CM. No need
for any unnecessary speculation," said Capt Amarinder Singh's media advisor, Raveen Thukral
On September 18, ‘humiliated' Capt resigned from his CM post after facing multiple revolts by MLA and ministers of his own party. However, he firmly opposed the elevation of his
arch rival Punjab PCC chief Navjot Singh Sidhu to the top post.
BJP leaders, notably Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij and party national general secretary Tarun Chugh urged Captain to join the party soon after his resignation.
Not only Amarinder Singh, but all nationalist forces in Punjab should unite “to fight the Congress's gameplan,” said Vij.

Notably, Capt Amarinder is also facing criticism from senior party leaders, after he publically lashed out at Navjot Sidhu and his allies, and called Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi “inexperience.”
Congress spokesperson, Supriya Shrinate had said “old people often get enraged,” adding that “there is no space for anger in politics” and if Capt Amarinder wants
to leave the party he can.
Meanwhile, party leader Sandeep Dikshit also took a jibe at Capt and said, ‘just months ago Amarinder Singh was buttering up the party leaders. However, as soon as he was removed from
his chair of CM, he got furious and called Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi “inexperienced.”
