Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday held an urgent high-level meeting to discuss the prevailing law and order situation caused due to the chaotic protests by farmers in Delhi.
The union minister has directed to deploy 15 paramilitary force companies in the national capital amid the increasing violence by the protesting farmers.
Shah was briefed about the clashes that were witnessed at various parts of the city after thousands of protesting farmers broke in barricades, deviating from the agreed routes.
Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla and Delhi Police Commissioner SN Srivastava were present in the high-level meeting.
Thousands of farmers were seen holding sticks, tricolour and different flags of their organisations on top of their tractors. They entered Delhi breaching barricades, clashing with the police attacking them. The protesting farmers today sieged the Red Fort and climbed the flagpole on Republic Day on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the farmer leaders, who have been spearheading the two-month protest at the national capital’s border points demanding a complete repeal of the three farm laws, after the allegations of creating ruckus and not honouring on the agreement said they are disowning the protesters, one young man was seen hoisting a yellow triangular flag at the flagpole.
