Prominent guests which include the likes A-list bollywood celebrities such as Amitabh Bacchan and Akshay Kumar and sports personalities such as Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli have been invited to consecration of Ram temple in Ayodhya which is to take place on January 22. Others among the invited include political and religious leaders and emminent sports personalities
Prime minister Modi will be the chief guest of the event. The event will commence at 11:00 A.M. and is expected to last for at least 3 to 4 hours.
Some of the invited include prominent names such as influential singer Asha Bhosle; entrpreneurs Ratan Tata and Mukesh Ambani are also invited to attend the proceedings.
Political leaders have also been invited which include names such as Lal Krishna Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Vinay Katiyar, Sadhvi Rithambhara and Uma Bharti among others.
Prominent religious leaders from disciplines other than Hinduism, such as Jainism, have also been invited to be a part of the proceedings, such as Jain personality Acharaya Lokesh Muni, who has been invited to join the proceedings.
Sports personalities invited to the event:
Along with Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli several other sports personalities have also been invited to the consecration. Some of the names include Football star Baichung Bhutia, Olympic Boxer Mary Kom, Olympic Badminton players PV sindhu and P Gopichand. Cricket Icons such as Rohit Sharma, Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, and Rahul Dravid are also expected to attend the event.
Due to safety reasons, several precautions have been set by the organisers in order to ensure smooth operation of the proceedings. Religious saadhus are not allowed to carry sticks, umbrellas and wear wooden footwear. The guests are also expected to walk at least one or two kilometers and therefore have been advised to abstain from attending the event in case of any illness.
The temple is located at Ram Janambhoomi i.e the birthplace of Lord Rama, the principle deity of Hinduism. Previously situated at the location was Babri Masjid, which was demolished in 1992 by religious ‘kar sewaks’. After a legal battle, the court ruled in favour of the hindus paving the way for the construction of the temple. The inauguration of the site is set to take place on January 22.
