PM Modi will be inaugurating several Vande Bharat trains on December 31. Included in these is the Amritsar-Delhi Vande Bharat express. Sources have revealed the time table that the VB express is likely to follow. Jalandhar citizens can rejoice as, sources reveal that Jalandhar City has been included as a stop in the route. The train will not stop at Sahnewal but will stop at both Ludhiana as well as Jalandhar. This inclusion has been a result due to severe public outcry after it was announced that Ludhiana will be included as a halt but not Jalandhar. Now Jalandhar citizens will be able to travel to Delhi in under 4 hours.
Several requests were made by the Jalandhar MP and the public for its inclusion. Lok Sabha MP Sushil Kumar Rinku, in a letter directly addressed to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, had requested Jalandhar as a stoppage in the route. Jalandhar inclusion will also reportedly help increase the Northern Railways generate three times its current revenue.
The route originally had stops in Ludhiana, Sahnewal and Ambala. According to time table revealed by sources, the train will not stop at Sahnewal but will stop at both Ludhiana and Jalandhar City. It will cover the 400 Km distance in under 6 hours starting at Amritsar from half past 8 in the morning and reaching Delhi at 10 minutes before 4 P.M. The Vande Bharat Express will depart from Amritsar at 8:30 A.M. It will arrive at the Jalandhar City railway station at 9:26 A.M. and will depart after stopping for 2 minutes at 9:28 A.M. After departure from Jalandhar, the train will arrive at Ludhiana at 10:16 A.M. and will depart at 10:18 A.M. the train will pass through Sahnewal at 10:41 A.M. but will not stop. It will then arrive and stop at Ambala at 11:34 A.M. and depart at 11:36 A.M. It will arrive at the last stop in New Delhi at 1:50 P.M.
On the return journey, the VB express will depart from Delhi at 3:15 P.M. and will reach Ambala at 5:25 P.M. From there it will start at 5:27 P.M. and will reach Ludhiana at 6:36 P.M. It will then depart from Ludhiana at 6:38 P.M and reach Jalandhar at 7:26 P.M. after a 2-minute stay it will arrive at Amritsar at 8:35 P.M.
