The father of Amritpal Singh, the head of Waris Punjab De and pro-Khalistan MP from Khadoor Sahib, Tarsem Singh on Tuesday claimed to be put under house arrest. Police force were deployed outside Amritpal's house in Jallupur Kheda village of Amritsar district. Three days ago, Amritpal's father Tarsem Singh had announced the formation of a new party at the Maghi fair.
Amritpal Singh's father, Tarsem Singh, while giving information, said that today is the second year of the National Justice Front, there is a huge gathering, and he was supposed to participate in it, but the police force has been deployed in the entire village since last night.
Tarsem Singh claimed, "Police have been deployed here and I have been told that I have been placed under house arrest. On asking the Police the reason behind it, I was told that this was done based on the information that I was going to take part in a protest by Quami Insaaf Morcha. All members of the household have been placed under house arrest. Punjab Police is doing this."
The village is under siege, an atmosphere of terror is being created in the village and democracy is being undermined. The government is defaming democracy and people have the right to express their anger, this is very shameful and therefore everyone should take notice of this thing that whenever people come together on a common issue, they should not be stopped." added Tarsem Singh
Punjab Police deny Tarsem Singh's house arrest
DSP, Baba Bakala sub-division, Arun Sharma said, "Police are placed outside the MP's (Amritpal Singh) residence. No one has been placed under house arrest. Based on inputs, we are here for law and order duty."
