Waris Punjab De Chief Amritpal Singh has recently come under the limelight of state as well national media after his supporters attacked the Ajnala Police Station with swords and pelted stones at the policemen. Waris Punjab De Chief Amritpal Singh's hundreds of followers clashed with the police and stormed Ajnala Police Station in the name of protest for the release of Lovepreet Singh. The Ajnala protest was supposed to be peaceful however, uncontrolled violence erupted and almost 6 Police officials were injured along with an SP.
Reportedly, now the Central government has decided to interfere in the matter and has sought reports from various agencies regarding the Waris Punjab De Chief and his background. This is after a really long time since any organization has openly spoken about turning Punjab into Khalistan without any fear. The central government is investigating about the sources from where the Waris Punjab De organization is getting funds and with whose support has it become so aggressive in the state. As per information, Punjab police have taken records of total of 52 videos of the Ajnala Police Station attack and are investigating all the people responsible as well as involved in the violent clash.
Central Government has finally decided to interfere in this matter as Waris Punjab De Chief Amritpal Singh is becoming a national issue. Apart from this, as Punjab Police has not taken any strict against in this regard and has made no arrest till now, government has decided to take action itself.
This is for the second time that such a violent clash between protestors and police has taken place. Earlier, in Mohali protestors raising voices for the release of Sikh prisoners pelted stones at policemen. At that time also, the police did not take serious action and in the Ajnala Police Station attack matter has made zero arrests.
