It has been more than 9 days since Amritpal Singh was declared a fugitive after dogging Punjab Police's arrest. While the legal team of Waris Punjab De has filed a petition of habeas corpus alleging that Amritpal Singh is already in illegal Police custody, Punjab Police has maintained that he is not in custody and therefore they are mulling to take of other agencies in the case. A few days back during a press conference IGP Sukhchain Singh Gill had expressed that Punjab Police thinks Amritpal has changed his attire and look and now a new CCTV footage stamped his claims to be true. A new CCTV footage has surfaced on social media and it has been confirmed by Police officials as reported by multiple news organization. The CCTV shows Amritpal Singh has undergone a massive transformation. However, the video also shows that the man walking in sunglasses without turban is none other than Amritpal Singh.
As per reports, the CCTV is from March 21 and Amritpal Singh was spotted in Delhi donning a leather jacket, mask, and sunglasses but no turban. He appears to have a distinct look, since his hair hangs loose with no turban, and the Khalistani leader was seen wearing a mask in the video. The CCTV footage was taken on March 21, three days after the Punjab Police launched a big crackdown on Amritpal Singh and his 'Waris Punjab De' outfit. Amritpal Singh is still missing, and the Indian government has already requested that the Nepal government not allow him to flee to another country. As per reports, Amritpal Singh and Papalpreet Singh arrived in Delhi via Kurukshetra, Haryana. The police have not stated whether he is still hiding in Delhi or whether he has fled the city.

Is Amritpal Singh in illegal custody?
“Punjab police have been categorically denying the custody of Amritpal. You show us some evidence that he is in the illegal custody of Punjab police,” the judge said adding “a warrant officer” would raid the area to recover him. “I will appoint a warrant officer or direct the concerned chief judicial magistrate to raid the area to recover him. You must show the court something to disapprove the stance of the state government,” the judge told Waris Punjab De legal team on Tuesday. The matter has now been adjourned for Wednesday for further hearing.
