Tensions prevail in Punjab as the state police have launched a massive Cordon and Search Operations against pro-Khalistani leader & Waris Punjab De Chief Amritpal Singh. In the latest development, a video of Amritpal Singh’s uncle surrendering to Punjab Police has gone viral. Amritpal’s uncle Harjit Singh and driver Harpreet Singh surrendered to police late at night on Sunday near the gurdwara in the Mehatpur area. SSP Rular Swarandeep Singh on Monday informed about the latest development in Amritpal Singh’s search operation.

In the video that has surfaced, it can be seen Amritpal Singh’s uncle surrendering to Punjab Police and giving an account of all his possessions. The video shows Harjit Singh showing his Arms License of the weapons he had to the police. Apart from this, his uncle said that he has some clothes and around Rs. 1,00,000 with them. Both Amritpal Singh’s uncle and his driver were seated in a Mercedes car which is now under police custody. For the unversed, Cordon and Search Operations against Waris Punjab De Chief Amritpal Singh started almost 23 days post the Ajnala Police Station violent clash.

However, the pro-Khalistani supporter is still on run but the arrest can happen anytime soon. Police are carrying out various flag marches and search operations in and near Jalandhar. Apart from this, manhunt has also been increased in areas ranging from Shahkot to Malsia. The police suspect Amritpal Singh to be hiding in Jalandhar due to which the entry and exit points of the district have been blocked. The force is also stationed in Amritpal's village Jallukheda.

Punjab's mobile internet & SMS services suspension extended till March 21 noon

The SMS and internet services have also been suspended by the Punjab Government till 12 noon on 21st March 2023.
