Fugitive Amritpal Singh's wife Kirandeep Kaur on Thursday was stopped at Amritsar Airport moments before boarding a flight to London. Kirandeep Kaur who married pro-Khalistan leader Amritpal Singh a few months back was stopped by immigration officials and was later questioned for almost 2.5 hours. At first, it was reported that Kirandeep Singh was detained as she was attempting to flee to London, however, later it was updated that she was stopped for question and after that, she was sent back home. Notably, Amritpal Singh's wife was not allowed to leave for London on Thursday by the immigration officials. One of the relatives of Amritpal Singh and Kirandeep Kaur while talking to the media stated that they have proper documents along with Visas, however, the immigration still stopped her. On being asked what could be the reason of not letting Kirandeep go? The relative stated that the immigration officials did not give a clear answer and stated that their lawyer will be notified of the exact reason.
Notably, Kirandeep returned to Jallupur Kheda which is Amritpal's village. It is pertinent to mention here that Amritpal Singh's father and father-in-law were also present with Kirandeep at the Amritsar Airport when she was trying to board a flight to London. With an attempt to flee to London, sources in the known developments have revealed to True Scoop News that security has been beefed up once again in Amritpal Singh's village Jallupur Kheda.
About Amritpal Singh's wife Kirandeep Kaur
According to reports, 29-year-old Amritpal Singh married UK-based NRI Kirandeep Kaur in February this year. The wedding took place at Amritpal Singh's ancestral village of Jallupur Khera in Amritsar. Amritpal Singh, after his wedding, said his wife will stay with him in Punjab as this marriage was a message for reverse migration and they want all Punjabi migrants to return to the state. Kirandeep's family is reportedly from Jalandhar.
Notably, Kirandeep in her previous interviews with The Week had stated that her husband Amritpal is innocent. She had further stated that the manhunt to nab her husband is being carried out in an illegal manner. Kaur further said that she was aware of the risks involved with his activities. Opening up on how the two started talking, Kirandeep Kaur said that she saw one of Amritpal’s posts on social media and messaged him. In the Instagram post, Amritpal was talking about saving Sikhism and propagating their language. Kaur said that at the time, she never knew that they would get married.
