A bizarre publicity stunt has come to light from Amritsar where a Civil Surgeon shot a video of a woman's delivery at the District Civil Hospital. The Civil Surgeon has been identified as Dr. Navdeep Singh, who has now landed in trouble.
Taking cognizance of the video, Punjab Women Commission has summoned the Director of Health Department, Amritsar, and the four doctors who were present during the surgery on November 24 in Chandigarh. The Commission is diligent to take stern action against the doctors.
According to the official sources, Dr. Navdeep Singh first shot the video and then intentionally released it to the media by attaching a press note to grab the attention of localites.
However, this matter later came to the notice of Dr. Prabhdeep Kaur, Director, Health Department Amritsar who denounced this move of the Civil Surgeon.

In an exclusive conversation with True Scoop, Dr. Prabhdeep Kaur said surgeons are not authorized to make any patient's video without the family's consent. Nevertheless, they can shoot the video to conduct research.
Dr. Kaur added that this video is a part of the publicity stunt. On November 17, Civil Surgeon Dr. Navdeep performed four surgeries, however, it is yet to ascertain if he has made the other videos too, she added.
It is pertinent to mention here, Dr. Kaur has called up Civil Surgeon to delete the video promptly as it is ethically wrong to violate any patient's privacy.
