Big questions were raised on Punjab's law and order after Shiv Sena leader Sudhir Suri was shot dead in broad daylight in Amritsar on Friday. Sudhir was staging a protest amidst tight Police security when 2 miscreants arrived at the spot and shot him on the spot. While one of the shooters named Sandeep Sunny was arrested at the spot, the other managed to escape. With Sudhir Suri post-mortem underway, his initial city scan report suggests that he was shot four times and two bullets pierced his chest. While one bullet hit his stomach, another hit his shoulder. Currently, Sudhir Suri's body has been sent for post-mortem in a government hospital and a team of 3 doctors namely Jitender Pal, Karamjit, and Sunny Basra have been assigned the task
On the other hand, Sudhir Suri's family has made 4 demands before the final post-mortem can be done by the doctors which inclides - 1) Martyr status to Sudhir Suri 2) CBI inquiry of case 3)Suspension of ACP North, 4) Suspension of 2 SHOs. On the other hand, Suri's son Manik reportedly said that he too got a threatening call this morning. Furthermore, he revealed that his father Sudhir also got a threat call and therefore he had demanded a bulletproof vehicle and jacket from the police only yesterday. However, they were not given.

On Friday, Sudhir Kumar Suri, the Shiv Sena leader was shot at around 3:30 pm near Gopal Mandir on Friday. Sudhir Kumar Suri was on the hit list of Pro-Khalistan elements for the past few months. Reportedly, the accused shot 2 bullets at Sudhir while he was in the dharna. His supporters were also present there when the incident took place. Explaining the incident, witnesses told that as he was on a protest, someone suddenly fired on him after which he was taken to the Escort Hospital by his security personnel. Police reveal that some unidentified youths came near Gopal Mandi, and opened fire on Sudhir Kumar Suri. Soon after this, he was taken to the hospital where he was declared dead.
