The stock market is in a downtrend, causing huge losses to investors. The main reason for this decline is being attributed to the war between Russia and Ukraine.

On this decline of the market, the country's veteran industrialist and Mahindra & Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra expressed concern on social media and called it the world war of the 21st century.

Anand Mahindra tweeted, "This is not surprising as the world is effectively at war. Physical battles may take place in one country, but the battle lines between political, economic, cyber, social media and useful resources have been drawn and are global. Welcome to the world war of the 21st century."
Huge fall in the stock market:

There has been a huge fall in the stock market due to the Russia-Ukraine war. In the market today, the main index of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty 50 opened below the level of 15,900, while the Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) index opened at 53,100 with a fall of 1200 points.

During this trading session, the decline in the stock market increased to 1632 points in Sensex and 444 points in Nifty50 at 2:32 pm.

Boiling of crude oil:

Russia is the second-largest producer of crude oil in the world. In such a situation, the supply of crude oil in the world has been affected after Russia went to war.

Due to sanctions imposed by the US and Western countries, Russia is unable to sell 65 per cent of its oil in the world markets, due to which the price of crude oil in the international market on Monday touched its 14-year high of $130 per barrel.

Apart from this, the price of aluminium, copper, steel and other metals is seeing a rise. Agreed: Responding to Anand Mahindra's tweet, a Twitter user named Praful commented, "India has to play a powerful role at this time to bring peace to our economy and the world. In the last 2 years the world has gone through a pandemic and now we don't want this war" to which he wrote, "Agree".
