Controversial social media influencer and former kick-boxer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate were detained in Romania’s Bucharest allegedly due to human trafficking and rape probe. As per US media reports, Andrew Tate was detained alongside his brother Tristan and two Romanian suspects after his house was raided in the capital, Bucharest. Andrew Tate's arrest took the internet by storm as it was reported that the controversial influencer was arrested after he released a rant video in response to Thunberg, which showed a pizza box that actually led the Romanian authorities to confirm that he was in the country, following which he and his brother were arrested in a human trafficking investigation. Now, multiple videos have surfaced claiming that Andrew Tate has been released from Police custody and the controversial social media influencer has rubbished charges of Human trafficking in an interview.

In the viral interview with Fox News, Andrew Tate stated that he was not arrested on charges of human trafficking but faced swatting case which is common among content creators or YouTubers. "I was not arrested. So, what happened is I suffered from a case of swatting which is very popular among content creators. Many large YouTubers have been swatted and you call the Police and say that somebody has a gun or a hostage situation and then SWAT team arrives. Somebody called to the American Embassy and said that I was holding a remnant in my house. And therefore the Police arrived at my house

"I am respectful to the Police. I would hate to live in a country where saying that women are being held against their will and the Police will not respond. It would be terrible and of course they should come and look. They turned up, they investigated and they realised nobody was in the house against their will. There was no crime occurred and they said ok you are not a suspect but you are a witness to this. We had to go to the Police station for 45 minutes to fill out a piece of paper. I was swatted and nobody was hurt."

However, as per Sportkeeda's report, it has not been confirmed whether Tate has been released or not. The sports website stated that on Thursday, December 29, Romanian prosecutors announced that Tristan and Andrew Tate were to be held for at least 24 hours on suspicion of human trafficking, committing r*pe, and attempting to form a crime group.
