New Delhi: An unknown bidder has agreed to pay a record $4,567,888 at an annual philanthropy sale to have a private lunch with Warren Buffett, the billionaire executive of Berkshire Hathaway Inc.
The winning bid, which was submitted amid a five-day online sale on eBay that finished Friday night, was about 33% higher than the past record $3,456,789 offers in both the 2012 and 2016 sales.
Continues advantage the Glide Foundation, a philanthropy in San Francisco's Tenderloin area that serves poor people, destitute or those doing combating substance misuse. Buffett, 88, has raised about $34.2 million for Glide in 2000 and moved to eBay in 2003.

His first wife Susan, who passed on in 2004, acquainted him with Glide subsequent to volunteering for the philanthropy.
Glide president Karen Hanrahan said, "Mr. Buffett is thrilled. We just spoke with him. He is committed to continue the auction as long as he's able. He has been a thought partner in thinking through Glide's future, and how to set it up for the next 50 years."
