A 40-year-old farmer, resident of Fatehgarh Sahib in Punjab, Amarinder Singh, today reportedly committed suicide after consuming poison at the Singhu border, the site of the ongoing farmers' agitation.

He was rushed to a hospital in Haryana's Sonepat around 7:30 pm, where the doctors declared him brought dead.
