Apple drops iOS 18.1: Check if your iPhone is eligible for the update

Apple has launched iOS 18.1 and has introduced several non-intelligence features aimed at enhancing the user experience including native call recording feature.

The much-awaited Apple Intelligence has finally launched by Apple in its iOS 18.1 update. This update includes multiple new AI features and several non-intelligence features as well. It includes a new call recording option, updates to Control Centre, performance improvements, and more.

iOS 18.1 new features:

  • ·         Writing Tools: The feature helps user in writing as it provides suggestions for improving clarity, tone, and style. This feature also summarizes the text and generate different writing styles.
  • ·         Improved Siri:  Siri has now got the ability to understand more complex commands and to provide with more informative responses. It can also set timers, make calls, and send messages.
  • ·         Redesigned Photos App: The Photos app of the iPhone has been now redesigned and it can now automatically identify people, places, and objects in photos. This feature will make it easier for users to find specific images.
  • ·         Image Cleanup: This new feature uses AI to remove unwanted objects from photos. It can remove people, power lines, and reflections from the images.
  • ·         Memory Organization: The Memories feature has been improved with new viewing options, making it easier to relive past experiences.
  • ·         Native Call Recording: With this new feature, now the users can record their phone calls directly from their Phone app.
  • ·         Front Camera Switch from Camera Control: This feature allows the users to switch to the front camera directly from the Camera Control Centre.
  • ·         Air Pods Hearing Test: This feature will let the users test their hearing using their Air Pods.
  • ·         Overhauled Mail app: This new feature detects and prioritise the time-sensitive emails and provides email summaries without the need of opening each message.

iPhones eligible for the update:

Apple phones eligible for the iOS 18.1 update includes iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. For the iOS 18.1 updating process users can go to settings, tap general, tap software update option and then tap update now.

However, before using these new features, the users will have to join the apple intelligence waiting list. For this, the user will have to go to settings, tap apple intelligence & Siri, tap join the apple intelligence waitlist and then tap join waitlist. after getting approved, they will be able access to the new features.
