Actors have always had a desire to play characters that are different and unique from the ones that are commonly seen on television nowadays. Bollywood performers have examined the third gender with a magnifying glass, stepping outside of their comfort zones.

Whether it was Ashutosh Rana in Sangharsh, Paresh Rawal in Tamanna as Tikku, Mahesh Manjrekar in Rajjo, Sadashiv Amrapurkar in Sadak, or Akshay Kumar in Laxmii, these actors displayed their skills with greatest authenticity. Rajpal Yadav, after all these great performers, has decided to join the bandwagon of portraying the third gender on television.

Rajpal Yadav is scheduled to portray a transgender in music composer Palash Muchhal's directorial debut, 'Ardh,' according to a set source. Rajpal Yadav's first transgender look will be revealed soon by the production. Subhash Singh, Katrina Kaif's favourite makeup artist, is rumoured to be transforming Rajpal Yadav into a transgender character. Well, when contacted for the same, Subhash did not comment on topic.

TV actor Hiten Tejwani and Bigg Boss 14 winner Rubina Dilaik will also appear in the forthcoming film. Ardh is already in the midst of filming. In June, Palash Muchhal announced his film. Palash shared a photo with Rajpal Yadav on Twitter and simply said, "All prepared to start my next." Palash previously stated, "It's a narrative about a man who comes to Mumbai to become an actor."

Recently, on his bday, March 16, he chose to honour his father by adding his father’s first name to his name. He said, “ While discussing the name change with my wife, I told her that I had lived my life on my own terms for the previous 50 years. However, I now wish to devote the remainder of my life to my father. I recently got the film ‘Father On Sale,' and the narrative prompted me to include my father's name.”

Rajpal Yadav will play that part in Ardh, which will be Palash's Hindi movie directorial debut as well as actress Rubina Dilaik's big screen debut. Ardh is set for an OTT release in early 2022.
