Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut on Friday slammed the government over Arnab Goswami and Kangana Ranaut while discussing the President's address to the Rajya Sabha. Raut said who are the patriots in our country ... Arnab Goswami, due to which an innocent person committed suicide in Maharashtra ... Kangana Ranaut, she is a patriot ... But the farmer fighting for his right is a traitor.
During the discussion on Motion of Thanks to the President’s address, Raut lashed at the government for filing a sedition case against the leaders and journalists covering farmers' protest. Raut said, "From the past 6 years we have listened to the truths and also considered the lies of the government as truth. But what is going on in our country, the environment one who speaks the truth, one who writes the truth they are termed traitors, anti-nationals. Those who will question the government will have to face sedition."
Raut talked about the sedition cases filed against APP MP Sanjay Singh, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, and journalist Rajdeep Sardesai. He said, "I can give many names, in our own house Sanjay Singh he is charged with sedition, famous journalist Rajdeep Sardesai who has been conferred with Padmashri by the government he is charged with sedition, Shashi Tharoor who represented India at the United Nation he is too charged with sedition. I think every IPC code has been scrapped from the constitution and the only sedition has been introduced into the law books of India."

Raut also took a jibe for shielding Arnab Goswami over his leaked WhatsApp chats and considering Kangana Ranaut a patriot. Raut said, "We respect PM Modi, he has won the majority. But the majority cannot be run by arrogance. It is not right for the integrity of India to defame the ongoing farmer's protest. On 26th January, the Indian flag Tricolour was humiliated and we accept that but Deep Sidhu who did this, who is he, to whom he belongs to you did not talk about that. Infact Deep Sidhu is still not arrested but more than 200 farmers have been put behind bars."
"You call these traitors. Are they traitors? So who is a patriot in our country? Arnab Goswami? Kangana Ranaut? Because of whom an innocent man committed suicide in Maharashtra. The one who leaked the official secret of the country. The one who leads the official secret of the country. He is at your service, under your protection. This is a matter of national security but you don't talk about it.
