Sometimes we forget that one generation's hero was inspired by another generation's hero. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who rose to fame as a world-class bodybuilder before starring in films such as The Terminator, Predator, and Total Recall, has just lost his "idol" in Dave Draper, an American bodybuilder, actor, and author. Following the news of Draper's death, Arnold Schwarzenegger wrote a tribute to him.

According to his wife Laree Draper's Facebook post, Dave Draper died on Tuesday morning at the age of 79 in a "calm and peaceful" manner. Mr. America in 1965, Mr. Universe in 1966, and Don't Make Waves in 1967, starring Sharon Tate (famously represented by Margot Robbie in Once Upon a Time In Hollywood) and Tony Curtis, are all memorable roles for him.

Arnold Schwarzenegger paid tribute to Don Draper on Instagram, sharing a vintage photo with him and the following message:

Arnold Schwarzenegger said in the homage that while he was growing up in Austria, he placed a magazine cover displaying Dave Draper over his bed as motivation to follow in his footsteps. Schwarzenegger became convinced that his aspirations were "feasible" after seeing Don't Make Waves star Don Draper. When Arnold Schwarzenegger relocated to Venice, California, at the age of 21, he began training and eventually won the Mr. Olympia title in 1970.

In the meanwhile, he appears to have met his hero in America, where he learnt that his "heart was as big as his pecs," as Arnold Schwarzenegger described it. He said that Dave Draper handcrafted his first pieces of furniture in Los Angeles.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has grown into an idol over the years, and many young men have undoubtedly looked up to him as his career evolved. It's fascinating to learn about his own personal hero and how he came to meet and get close to him. Schwarzenegger drew inspiration in Dave Draper, a five-year-old bodybuilder, and took the steps and worked hard to fulfil his ambitions and have his own idol take notice of him.

Arnold Schwarzenegger still lives in Los Angeles, California, has a large family, a long list of one-liners to his credit from his acting career, and was even governor of California at one point. Next up for the actor is a sequel to Twins, Triplets, which will star Danny DeVito and Tracy Morgan.

Following the news of Dave Draper's passing, we express our sympathies to his family, friends, and admirers.
